Job summary

Wheaton College in Norton, MA seeks an experienced Custodial Supervisor to oversee daily custodial operations, supervise staff, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across facilities.

You will train and schedule staff, monitor performance, manage supplies, and serve as a point of contact for emergencies. This is a working supervisory role with shifted hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience with some supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Knowledge of supervisory responsibilities and College policies.

Responsibilities

• Staff Supervision: hire, train, supervise, and develop custodial staff.
• Vendor & Contractor Coordination: manage bids and supplier relations.
• Inventory & Supply Management: handle inventory and orders.
• Emergency Response: act as initial contact in emergencies; standby for shifts.
• Inclement Weather Coordination: ensure staffing for snow/ice events.
• Compliance, Records & Safety: maintain electronic records and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Other duties as assigned and required training.
