Job summary

Transition Projects, Inc. in Portland, OR seeks a Residential Advocate to provide advocacy and referral services for participants in emergency shelters.

You will supervise shelter activities, coordinate with staff, and maintain confidential participant records while promoting safety and respectful interactions. This non-exempt, union-represented role requires up to date first aid/CPR training, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to work Fridays through Sundays.

Qualifications

• 2 years of consistent work experience (in any field).
• Knowledge of services available to low-income and homeless persons in Multnomah County or similar areas.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shelter activities to ensure participant safety.
• Provide advocacy, information, and referral services to participants.
• Maintain logs and participant records accurately.
• Coordinate with agency staff to ensure consistent delivery of services.
• Attend agency and program staff meetings.
