Job summary

Bay Area Turning Point is seeking a Resident Advocate Evening C to oversee shelter operations and deliver services to residents during assigned shifts. The role includes crisis intervention, maintaining safety and confidentiality, and ensuring policy adherence.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, managing donations, and supporting residents with crisis needs while maintaining shelter standards and facilitating meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 4-year degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources, or comparable experience.
• Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
• Must have a clean driving record and automobile insurance; be insurable.
• No drivers under age 21; no DUI or reckless driving violations.
• Proof of personal automobile insurance must be provided.
• Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention to residents and hotline callers.
• Oversee safety, security, and welfare of residents during shift.
• Orient residents to shelter guidelines and ensure adherence.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and shelter operations.
• Ensure donations are recorded and stored properly.
• Attend shelter and staff meetings; contribute as needed.
• Oversee shelter cleanliness and reassign chores.
• Submit maintenance requests for equipment/building repairs.
• Check call notes and retrieve client messages.
• Other duties as assigned.
