Job summary

Good Samaritan Mandan Sunset is seeking a Nursing Assistant to deliver resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. The role runs 2:00pm–10:15pm, including every other weekend and rotating holidays, under RN supervision, with a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, recording vitals, and supporting diet, mobility, and psychosocial needs. A CNA credential and ongoing education are required; driving duties may apply where needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, not required.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or enrollment in CNA program within four months of start date.
• Completes yearly competency testing; minimum 12 hours continuing education annually.
• May be registered with the UAP Registry where applicable.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with valid license and required driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care during the scheduled shift.
• Assist with daily living activities: bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and nutrition.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the RN.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and mobility; perform ROM exercises.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry to help maintain clean living areas.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
