Job summary

Good Samaritan Mandan Sunset is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting, under an RN's supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic health care tasks, while maintaining infection control and safety protocols.

The role requires CNA certification or active enrollment, a minimum age of 16, and prior long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
• Completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits; minimum 12 hours annually.
• When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (state dependent).
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and valid driver's license; must be medically qualified per Driving Policy.

Responsibilities

• The Nursing Assistant provides resident-centered care under supervision of an RN.
• Assists with daily living activities, bathing, grooming, feeding, and vital signs.
• Transports and positions residents using transfer techniques and equipment; provides ROM exercises.
• Documents resident interactions and communicates changes in condition to the charge nurse.
• Provides housekeeping, laundry, and support for wellness and recreational programs.
