Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to move empty trailers to and from warehouse locations, then return full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tandem, tractor, or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, adhering to DOT regulations and delivering safely and on time.

Competitive pay with benefits starting Day 1 and a $7,500 signing bonus. Requires CDL A with Doubles Endorsement, 6+ months driving experience, and ability to work 3rd shift:

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience required.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement required.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations.
• Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Immediately reports all safety hazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
• Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer and complete necessary paperwork.
• Unloads all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
• Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
