Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC in Minnesota is seeking a caring Caregiver to support residents with daily living activities during the 2pm-10pm shift. You will help with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and personal care in a respectful, privacy-minded manner according to each resident's plan.

You will document changes, communicate with supervisors, assist with social activities, and maintain safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL) tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility.
• Assist with moving and transferring residents into and out of bed, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
• Communicate appropriate information (including incident reports) and any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately.
• Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.
• Encourage residents to socialize and participate in scheduled activities and outings and assist with those activities as needed.
• Respond promptly and courteously to all resident alerts, needs and/or requests for care, and provide assistance with care as needed.
• Observe emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurse.
• Follow and promote personal safety precautions and a safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the nurse or management.
• Check each resident per service schedule to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
• Ensure resident safety by assisting in the performance of fire or other safety drills.
• Perform other essential job-related duties as assigned.
