Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide to support the Observation Unit with patient care, documentation, and basic clinical tasks. The role requires accurate data entry in EMR, adherence to infection control, and teamwork with licensed staff.

The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, with a 7 PM to 7 AM schedule including rotating weekends and holidays. Candidates must have BLS and state CNA credentials.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.
• GED or High School Equivalency Diploma or High School Graduate.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, positioning and ambulation.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, weight, and other data in EMR accurately.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to the RN or charge nurse.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge activities and patient room setup.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum samples and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Restock nursing area, transport supplies, and clean equipment and work areas.
• Position patients and assist with transfers using proper technique and devices.
