Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking a part-time Dispatcher-Telecommunicator to support the Central Monitoring team. You will handle 15 - 45 dispatch calls daily, monitor thousands of surveillance cameras, and coordinate emergency and non-emergency services across campus facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with security alarm systems and surveillance equipment.
• APCO Telecommunicator I, APCO Law Enforcement Dispatch, APCO Medical Dispatch training, preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IBM platforms.
• Experience with a Total Quality Management System a plus.
• Experience handling service requests, complaints, and issues/problems.
• Strong customer service and telephone dispatching skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for the students.
• Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive and coordinate incoming calls and service requests
• Monitor fire, mechanical, and security alarms
• Dispatch Campus Safety Officers and Service Technicians
• Operate as the central hub for phone and 2-way radio communications
• Respond during school closures and emergencies.
