Job summary

Rise Baking Company in York, PA is seeking an icing mixer to manufacture cake icing and fillings according to specifications, with repetitive lifting and adherence to GMP and safety policies. You will maintain inventory, update records, and ensure line continuity.

The role requires a high school diploma, manual dexterity, stamina for long shifts, and the ability to stand and lift heavy items. Training in WMS and safety practices is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrates manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand for a full shift.
• Must be able to push and pull wheeled bowls in excess of 750lbs.
• Must be able to work over 40 hours per week and 8 hours per day.
• Basic Math skills and ability to read/write English.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate scanner gun.

Responsibilities

• Inspects mixing equipment for cleanliness or possible damage during set-up and reports deficiencies to supervisor.
• Reviews daily ingredient requirements against standard requirements and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Reviews icing inventory for daily use. Update inventory daily.
• Scales ingredients in accordance with pre-determined formulas and procedures; calculates batch requirements and batch size adjustments as directed by supervisor.
• Operates various mixing and metering equipment in accordance with pre-determined procedures.
• Maintains records of batches produced as well as ingredient lot numbers, temperatures, and specific gravities.
• Enters all required information into the warehouse management system (WMS)
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices by adhering to company policy and keeping work areas and equipment neat and clean on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain continuous communication with line lead to ensure proper icing supply to the line
• Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies
• Responsibility to report safety hazards to people or product and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.
• Back up for this position is other Icing Mixers and Production Lead.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
