Best Maid Cookie Company in York, PA is seeking an Operator III on the 1st shift to manufacture cake icing and fillings in a fast-paced plant. The role requires adherence to GMP, accurate batch tracking, and maintaining ingredient inventories to ensure continuous line safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include operating mixing equipment, updating the WMS, and supporting line leaders to meet production targets. Candidates should be able to lift up to 100 lbs and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand for a full shift.
• Must be able to push/pull wheeled bowls and manage heavy lifts as required.
• Basic math skills and ability to read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Inspects mixing equipment for cleanliness or damage and reports deficiencies.
• Reviews daily ingredient requirements against standard requirements.
• Reviews icing inventory for daily use and updates inventory.
• Scales ingredients per formulas and adjusts batch size as directed.
• Operates mixing and metering equipment per procedures.
• Maintains batch records with ingredient lot numbers and temperatures.
• Enters required information into the warehouse management system (WMS).
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices and keeps work areas clean.
• Maintains communication with line lead to ensure icing supply.
• Reports safety hazards and complies with GMP.
• Ensures products meet SQF Food Safety Code requirements.
• Back up for other icing mixers and production lead.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Purpose

Manufactures various cake icing and filling products in accordance with designated specifications; performs job tasks of a repetitive lifting nature in accordance with product type and production requirements; conforms to Good Manufacturing and Safety practices as outlined by company policy.

Essential Functions

• Inspects mixing equipment for cleanliness or possible damage during set-up and reports deficiencies to supervisor.
• Reviews daily ingredient requirements against standard requirements and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Reviews icing inventory for daily use. Update inventory daily.
• Scales ingredients in accordance with pre-determined formulas and procedures; calculates batch requirements and batch size adjustments as directed by supervisor.
• Operates various mixing and metering equipment in accordance with pre-determined procedures.
• Maintains records of batches produced as well as ingredient lot numbers, temperatures, and specific gravities.
• Enters all required information into the warehouse management system (WMS)
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices by adhering to company policy and keeping work areas and equipment neat and clean on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain continuous communication with line lead to ensure proper icing supply to the line
• Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies
• Responsibility to report safety hazards to people or product and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.
• Back up for this position is other Icing Mixers and Production Lead.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform repetitive motions on a regular basis
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment using both hands, frequent bending/stooping with occasional walking and lifting/moving up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a full shift
  • Must be able to push and pull wheeled bowls in excess of 750lbs
• Must be able to work over 40 hours per week and 8 hours per day- ability to work overtime is required
• Basic Math skills
• Must be able to read and write English
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate scanner gun
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
