Job summary

SSM Health's St. Mary's Hospital in Madison is seeking an RN to provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients, aligning with facility policies and procedures.

The role emphasizes nursing assessments, development and evaluation of treatment plans, and education for patients and families, while supervising LPNs and techs. Evening shift with 32 scheduled hours per week, focused on patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent licensing.
• RN licensure in the applicable state.
• No prior experience required for entry-level behavioral health nursing.

Responsibilities

• Complete admitting and shift assessments for assigned patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and notify physician of changes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and reviews.
• Document nursing care in the EHR per policy.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and document education.
• Supervise care delivered by LPNs and technicians.
• Apply evidence-based practice to patient care and ensure safety.
