Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Madison in Wisconsin seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care for behavioral health patients, following facility policies and procedures.

The role involves admitting and assessing patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, documenting care in the EHR, educating families, and supervising LPNs and techs while maintaining nurse ethics and safety standards on the night shift.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• No nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Completes admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients.
• Utilizes critical thinking to analyze data and notify physician of changes.
• Participates in development and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Documents nursing care and adheres to standards and procedures.
• Implements physician orders accurately.
• Assesses and monitors patient and environment for safety.
• Serves as a clinical resource and supervises LPNs and techs.
• Educates patients and families and documents education in EHR.
• Applies evidence-based practice to nursing care and age-specific needs.
• Upholds ANA Code of Ethics in nursing practice.
• Works safely and performs other duties as assigned.
