Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking a Group Leader to supervise participants in grades K–8 during afterschool hours. You will facilitate activities, provide homework support, and promote positive youth development in alignment with DYCD and DOH guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, planning engaging activities, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. Requires a high school diploma or GED with experience in youth settings; background checks and DOE

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children (K–8) in afterschool, camp, or youth development settings.
• Ability to lead activities, manage groups, and engage youth with diverse needs and backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervising program participants at all times during program operation, including off-site trips.
• Providing active homework assistance to ensure engagement and support.Planning and implementing engaging academic enrichment and recreation activities.
• Utilizing positive youth development principles to foster growth and responsibility.
• Participating in meetings and training to enhance professional skills.
• Adhering to safety procedures and reporting incidents as required.
