Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation in Brooklyn seeks a Group Leader to supervise participants in grades K–8 afterschool. You will create a safe, engaging environment, support academic enrichment, and ensure activities align with DYCD/DOH/NYCDOE guidelines.

You will lead activities, provide homework help, coordinate with staff, and participate in trainings; 15+ hours per year; 2:00–6:00 PM, five days a week, up to 20 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
• Experience with school-age children (K–8) in afterschool/youth programs
• Ability to lead activities, manage groups, engage diverse youth
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Must pass background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance

Responsibilities

• Supervise program participants at all times and locations
• Provide active homework assistance
• Plan and implement engaging academic enrichment and recreation activities
• Support youth development through positive interactions and role modelling
• Participate in meetings and trainings; minimum 15 hours per year
• Adhere to safety guidelines and program procedures
