Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking a Group Leader to supervise afterschool activities for K–8 students in Brooklyn. The role focuses on safety, engagement, academic enrichment, and positive youth development within DYCD, DOH and NYCDOE guidelines.

You'll lead group activities, provide homework help, and collaborate with teachers and staff to deliver a structured, nurturing program from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with school-age children (K–8) in afterschool, camp, or youth development settings.
• Ability to lead activities, manage groups, and engage youth with diverse needs and backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance.

Aufgaben

• Supervise program participants at all times during program operation and at all locations, including off-site trips.
• Assist in safe pick-up and delivery of participants from community schools as assigned.
• Provide active homework assistance to ensure engagement during homework time.
• Plan and implement engaging academic enrichment and recreation activities.
• Prepare daily lesson plans and use curricular materials to facilitate activities.
• Foster positive youth development and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
• Participate in professional development activities and trainings.
• Adhere to NYS SACC regulations and program staff manuals for quality and safety.
• Report any behaviors or incidents impacting safety or quality of services.
