Phoenix House California is seeking an Admissions Specialist to manage admissions administrative functions and assist with assessments/intakes. You will interview prospective patients, verify insurance benefits, and maintain Electronic Health Records in coordination with the clinical team.

The role requires high school diploma, DHCS AOD Counselor credential, and at least one year of related experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and be registered as an AOD Counselor per DHCS.
• Certified Admissions Specialist: must be DHCS-certified AOD Counselor.
• Minimum of one year experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with Substance Abuse or Mental Health preferred.

Responsabilités

• Manage admissions department administrative functions.
• Perform clinical assessments and intakes for Phoenix House programs.
• Interview prospective patients and relatives to determine eligibility.
• Create and maintain Electronic Health Records and necessary documentation.
• Verify insurance benefits and assist with admissions paperwork.
• Coordinate referrals and maintain relationships with partner organizations.
• Attend required staff meetings and training.
