Job summary

Voltera Power, LLC is seeking a Design Manager to own a portfolio of fleet charging hubs from site control to permit handoff. You will lead design, utility coordination, permitting, and procurement, directing A&E consultants and vendors to meet cost and schedule targets.

The role collaborates with Sales Engineering, Real Estate, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Finance, prioritizing speed to market for zero-emission fleet projects. Limited travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years in design management, project management, engineering, or construction, leading site designs from intake through IFC.
• Electrical, Civil, or Architectural background with site development, planning, and construction experience.
• Hands-on utility coordination and municipal permitting experience on land development projects.
• Ability to read, markup, and provide substantive feedback on civil, electrical, and structural drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages with strong organizational habits.
• Proficiency with project-tracking software and common tools (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore).

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of fleet charging hub designs from site control through permit approval.
• Coordinate with customer design standards, Voltera site standards, and local codes for sign-off at milestones.
• Select and manage third-party A&E consultants and specialty vendors; issue RFPs and monitor delivery.
• Lead utility applications and AHJ permitting end-to-end, tracking reviews and costs.
• Own project budget and schedule; work with Engineering to align long-lead procurement with the construction timeline.
• Support Real Estate during due diligence and ensure smooth transitions with Construction.
