Job summary

Voltera seeks an experienced Design Manager to own a portfolio of fleet charging hubs from site control through permits and procurement. You will lead design, utility coordination, permitting, and procurement, directing A&E consultants and vendors, owning cost and schedule, and delivering to customers' design standards.

The ideal candidate will work daily with Sales Engineering, Real Estate, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Finance to accelerate speed to market for autonomous vehicle

Qualifications

• Must-have: 4-7 years in design management, project management, engineering, or construction; lead site designs through IFC.
• Electrical, Civil, or Architectural background with site development and construction experience.
• Hands-on utility coordination and permitting on land development or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read and provide feedback on civil, electrical, and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of fleet charging hub designs from due diligence to IFC and handoff to Construction.
• Coordinate with customer standards and Voltera site standards; obtain sign-off at milestones.
• Manage third-party A&E consultants and specialty design vendors; issue RFIs and manage scope and delivery.
• Lead utility applications from submission to end-to-end permitting; track cycles and address comments early.
• Own project budgets, schedules, and business cases; coordinate with internal Engineering for long-lead procurement.
• Support Real Estate during due diligence; ensure smooth transitions and repeatable design workflows.
• Coordinate with Sales Engineering to meet customer requirements and keep projects on time and budget.
