Rivian seeks an emerging to mid-level Technician to grow technical acumen while delivering exceptional customer experience. Work with senior technicians to support EV repairs, inspections, and field service.

Based mainly at a service center, role may involve remote work, travel for mobile service, or plant support as needs evolve. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced environments, value communication, and bring a passion for innovation and adventure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency credential preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no suspensions or revocations within the past 3-5 years).
• Ability to drive a non-commercial truck and trailer is preferred.
• Availability for a standard 40-hour workweek, including potential shifts on weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, or overnights based on business needs.
• Flexibility for travel to regional locations or production facilities as needed.
• Proficient with laptops/computers in Windows or Mac environments, as well as work order management systems.
• Eagerness to learn, strong organizational skills, time management, and high attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Service & Repair: Diagnose, repair, install, and inspect vehicles at service centers, mobile routes, or remote locations.
• Technical Guidance & Learning: Learn product line, EV framework, tools, and stay mentored by senior technicians.
• Procedure & Safety Adherence: Follow repair procedures while maintaining safety and quality.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct road tests after repairs to verify performance and safety.
• Parts & Operations Management: Assist with parts ordering, receiving, inventory tracking, and work orders.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed technical notes for completed and in-progress repairs.
• Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers, families, and suppliers at facilities or events.
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements and participate in service campaigns.
• Professional Growth: Engage in required training and expand technical skills with minimal supervision.
