Job summary

Rivian is seeking a technician-in-training to grow technical skills while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Based at a local service center, this role may involve remote work, mobile service travel, or plant support as needs evolve.

You will work under the mentorship of senior technicians to support EV repairs, inspections, and field service operations, thriving in a dynamic environment with strong communication and a passion for innovation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency preferred.
• 21+ years old minimum.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Graduation from automotive repair school/program highly preferred.
• 0-3 years hands-on experience in automotive shop or technical environment.
• Basic exposure to EV/hybrid frameworks a plus.
• Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer preferred.
• 40-hour workweek with potential shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
• Proficient with Windows or Mac laptops and work order systems.
• Eagerness to learn, strong organization, time management and detail.
• Physical tasks up to 50 lbs, reading basic electrical schematics and using DVOM.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle service & repair at service center, mobile route, or remote location.
• Provide technical guidance and learning under mentorship of senior technicians.
• Follow repair procedures and maintain safety and quality.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and safety.
• Assist with parts operations including ordering, receiving, and inventory.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for repairs.
• Interact professionally with customers and partners at facilities or events.
• Identify process improvements and participate in service campaigns.
• Engage in required training and grow technical skills with minimal supervision.
