Job summary

Rivian is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician based in Minnesota to support Rivian vehicle repairs in a dynamic, customer-focused setting. The role involves working at service centers or on-site at customer locations, with opportunities to travel to production facilities as needed.

The position recruits across levels based on business needs. Ideal candidates have a background in automotive repair or EV tech, strong tool use, and a commitment to high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Comfortable working in varied shifts incl. weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, install, and inspect vehicles at service centers or in the field at customer locations.
• Explain Rivian product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
• Follow Rivian repair procedures with safety and quality.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality.
• Manage parts operations including ordering, receiving, and inventory.
• Document all work and notes for internal/external use.
• Collaborate with team and maintain professionalism with customers.
• Stay updated with technical skills and required training.

Skills

Hand and power tools proficiency

Valid driver’s license

21 years old minimum

Excellent English communication

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and do/fe

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Tools

DVOM (digital volt-ohmmeter)

Electrical schematics reading

CAN/LIN diagnostic knowledge

A/C service equipment

Windows or Mac computer proficiency
