Job summary

Pearce is seeking an EV Charging Field Service Technician to service and maintain EV charging stations across a defined geographic region. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, safety assessments, and in-field reporting to ensure reliable operation of Level 2 and DC fast chargers.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of power equipment service experience, strong troubleshooting skills, CMMS proficiency, and the ability to work independently in varied field environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training.
• Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Technical knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power installations, or other applicable power electronics is preferred, but not required.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and complete site work requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions to EV charging equipment from Level 2 chargers to DC Fast Chargers.
• Conduct insulation testing, thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and locate ground faults.
• Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to ensure maintenance schedules and work orders are completed on time.
• Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper service and maintenance of equipment.
• In-field electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance and site reporting.
• Document all site issues in the work order system and address them promptly.
