Job summary

General Motors seeks a Software Engineer to join the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls team in Milford, MI. You will develop embedded software for high‑voltage battery systems, ensuring safety, diagnostics, and robust communications hardware‑agnostic solutions.

You will collaborate across safety, validation, and architecture teams, applying SDV/SOA principles, MISRA, and modern DevOps to deliver reliable software in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years of embedded software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver embedded software for VMEC Battery Management Systems.
• Ensure on-time, high-quality software deliverables.
• Follow MISRA guidelines and safety regulations.
• Develop modular software architectures for hardware-agnostic solutions.
• Implement diagnostics and controller communications (CAN/LIN/Ethernet).
• Verify functionality via automated testing, HIL, and vehicle testing.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews within Scrum teams.
