Job summary

General Motors seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead LV battery sensing software for low-voltage systems, reporting to Milford, MI three days per week in a hybrid setup. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with hardware, QA, and product teams to deliver robust solutions.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software development, strong C skills, SAFe experience, and a proven ability to lead automotive software initiatives and data architecture efforts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development, with emphasis on embedded/autmotive applications.
• Strong proficiency in C or similar languages.
• Proven track record leading technical projects and initiatives.
• Experience with battery management sensing software and AFEs is a plus.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development of LV battery sensing software.
• Drive process and tooling improvements across software engineering lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous learning.
• Collaborate with hardware, QA, and product teams to define requirements.
• Contribute to strategic roadmaps for battery software and data architecture.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and internal quality processes.
