Job summary

General Motors seeks a Controls Software Engineer for Energy Source Control within the EPSI organization. The role focuses on embedded C/C++ software for low voltage power and energy management in vehicles, with hybrid work and on-site ~3 days/week.

You will develop, test, and integrate control strategies, collaborate across systems, and mentor teammates to advance VIP/SDV2.0 architectures. Strong software engineering background, 5+ years in embedded controls, and knowledge of safety and agile

Qualifications

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
5+ years engineering experience related to embedded controls, calibration, integration, or software development.
Proficiency with C, C++, Python.
Understanding of embedded controls development and delivery processes, including SAFE/Agile.
Experience using embedded controls test assets (SIL, HIL, Vehicle) and tools (INCA, MDA).
Proficiency with control theory and applications to embedded systems.

Responsibilities

Lead development and implementation of controls for low voltage features in embedded C/C++.
Convert feature requirements into concrete work items with clear acceptance criteria.
Provide data to calibration procedures and support verification.
Ensure safety/regulatory compliance and GM best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with System Engineers, other Software Engineers, and Calibrators.
Design and integrate components ensuring reusability and consistency.
