Job summary

Jobot in Herndon, VA seeks an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to lead commercial, industrial and mission-critical construction projects. You will handle preconstruction estimating, value engineering, and project management from award through closeout, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating and/or project management.
• Experience with industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, mission-critical, data center, distribution, commercial interior, or base-building projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, and project delivery processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Proficiency with construction management and estimating software.
• Excellent financial management, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and project budgets.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project planning discussions.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams during the preconstruction phase.
• Manage commercial construction projects from award through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives.
• Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and project requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
