Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Commercial Estimator & Takeoff Specialist to lead and grow a project team in a dynamic commercial construction environment. You will develop detailed takeoffs, prepare cost estimates, and drive successful bids for hospitals, retail, government, and restoration projects.

Qualifications

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Commerical Construction Estimator to join our team and drive success in our commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction with a proven track record in managing projects related to hospitals, retail, government, and restoration. This role requires a blend of skills and experience in contract management, site work, bidding and construction services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Job Details
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage commercial construction projects from beginning to end, including project close-out.
  • Perform detailed take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Track and manage Request for Information (RFI) process, ensuring all RFIs are addressed promptly and accurately.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Utilize Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and ISQFT bid management software to manage project documentation and communication.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure project is completed within budget.
  • Perform budget analysis, providing regular financial updates to senior management.
  • Coordinate and oversee on-site operations, ensuring work is completed according to design, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Resolve any project issues or disputes quickly and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and estimation in the commercial construction industry.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial construction projects, including hospitals, retail, government, and restoration.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and ISQFT bid management software.
  • Exceptional skills in contract negotiation, budget management, and cost estimation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
