Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Estimator to own the preconstruction budgeting process from early estimates through project award. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and thrives in a deadline-focused environment.

We value experience in budgeting, subcontractor management, and cost analysis, with a strong eye for market conditions and pricing strategy. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction experience; high-potential candidates may be considered
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Experience with MS Office; Procore/OST/BuildingConnected is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build and submit detailed project proposals including budgeting and scheduling
• Manage subcontractor invitations to bid (ITB) and relationships
• Perform scope takeoffs and subcontractor leveling
• Support project buyout and contracting post-award
• Analyze drawings and evolving document sets from schematic to construction
• Identify and resolve cost discrepancies through data analysis
• Source and validate pricing for materials and systems
• Stay informed on market conditions and pricing strategies

Job Details

We’re looking for an Estimator who can own the preconstruction process from early budgeting through project award. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-driven, and comfortable working in a deadline-focused environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build and submit detailed project proposals including budgeting, scheduling, and execution approach
• Manage subcontractor invitations to bid (ITB) and relationships
• Perform scope takeoffs and subcontractor leveling
• Support project buyout and contracting post-award
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and evolving document sets (schematic → permit → construction)
• Identify and resolve cost discrepancies through data analysis
• Source and validate pricing for materials and systems
• Stay informed on market conditions and competitive pricing strategies

What you need:

• 3–5 years of construction experience (open to training high-potential candidates)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Procore, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), and BuildingConnected is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
