Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating for school, commercial, federal, state, government or hospitality projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of industrial and government construction regulations and standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Conducting research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, and production times.
• Consulting with clients, vendors, and foremen to discuss and formulate estimates.
• Working with project management to understand project scope and requirements.
• Assessing cost effectiveness and tracking costs relative to bids as projects develop.
• Preparing, reviewing and presenting cost estimates and bid packages.
• Conducting risk analysis and advising on mitigating risks.
• Liaising with architects, engineers, and other professionals on changes to estimates.
• Preparing and presenting reports to senior management.

Job Details

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial planning of construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure. As a Construction Estimator, you will work closely with our project management team, clients, and vendors to ensure accurate cost estimation for a variety of construction projects including school, commercial, federal, state, government, and hospitality constructions.

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

1. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
2. Conducting research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other necessary information.
3. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
4. Working with the project management team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and requirements.
5. Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
6. Preparing, reviewing and presenting cost estimates and bid packages.
7. Conducting risk analysis and advising on mitigating potential risks.
8. Liaising with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
9. Preparing and presenting reports and findings to senior management.
