Job summary

AppleOne is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join a growing team in Washington. You will review plans, prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors, and collaborate with project teams to ensure competitive bids.

The role requires 3+ years in estimating with strong analytical, Excel, and cost-management skills. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment on diverse projects, supporting bids from pre-bid to handoff post-contract.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in construction, manufacturing, industrial, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of project costing and bid preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Prepare accurate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare complete bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and operations throughout the bidding process.
• Maintain estimating databases, pricing information, and historical project costs.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
• Assist with project handoffs after contract award.
