Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Omaha seeks an Estimating Manager 1 to prepare cost estimates for bids and negotiated proposals, and to develop economical construction approaches aligned with JE Dunn processes. You will work with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to create comprehensive estimates and deliverables.

The role includes managing scopes of work for all trades, tracking value creation items, and supporting preconstruction with logistics and scheduling insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 3+ years estimating experience; 5+ years construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications; proficient with Excel and estimating software.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and travel ability.

Responsibilities

• Prepares complex cost estimates for bids and negotiated proposals.
• Develops material and other costs summaries for quotes from vendors.
• Tracks value creation items from development through inclusion in documentation.
• Develops and manages scopes of work for all trades and coordinates pricing and bid solicitation.
• Utilizes project schedule and logistics knowledge in estimates.
• Assists with system analysis of building components and MEP systems.
• Coordinates bid day summaries and procurement presentations.
• Collaborates with operations to improve project profitability during preconstruction.
• Provides training and mentorship to others.
