Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an Estimating Manager 1 to prepare cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals, developing more economical ways to construct projects and delivering comprehensive estimates in support of the company’s strategy and values.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors, with opportunities for field exposure and mentorship within a core estimating function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 3+ years estimating experience; total 5+ years construction experience preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required; ability to lift up to 10 pounds; overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.
• Reads and outlines project specifications.
• Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.
• Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing and bid solicitation and coordination.
• Distributes plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors.
• Collaborates with project team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Gains field operational exposure through onsite project support.
