Job summary

Spencer Ogden partners with a global engineering business to appoint an Estimating Manager to support hyperscale and mission-critical data center projects from pursuit through preconstruction and award. You will lead estimating activities, develop price benchmarks, and mentor a team of estimators.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in estimating/preconstruction within commercial construction, EPC or mission-critical sectors, with strong data center or high-tech project experience and proven bid

Qualifications

• 8+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience within commercial construction, EPC or mission critical.
• Strong data center, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or high-tech project experience.
• Proven experience estimating large, technically complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP, electrical and mission-critical systems.
• Experience managing subcontractor bids, cost models and procurement strategy.
• Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and clients.
• Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating activities for large-scale data center and mission-critical projects.
• Develop conceptual, schematic and detailed estimates from early-stage design through GMP and final pricing.
• Manage quantity take-offs, subcontractor pricing, bid leveling and scope reviews.
• Partner with operations, procurement and design teams to identify cost, schedule and constructability risks.
• Support RFPs, pursuits, bid strategy and client presentations.
• Develop benchmarking, historical cost data and estimating standards.
• Review subcontractor proposals and negotiate pricing, scope and commercial terms.
• Provide senior leadership with accurate cost forecasts and commercial insight.
• Mentor and develop estimators within the team.
