The New York Public Library (NYPL) is seeking an Adult English Language and Literacy instructor to deliver ESOL and literacy classes at Muhlenberg Library on Saturdays. This role supports in-person and online learning for adults 0–8th grade level in a 10-week cycle, with funded Saturday sessions and prep time.
Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum alignment, lesson planning, enrollment support, and participating in professional development.

Adult English Language and Literacy (AELL) is the direct service provider of ESOL and adult literacy instruction for The New York Public Library (NYPL). Professional teachers facilitate free instruction to adult patrons in reading, writing, speaking and listening from a 0 to 8th grade level in both in-person and online classes. Instruction is offered in three, 10-week cycles and one, 4-week summer cycle.
*Please note this position is for our fall cycle of classes which lasts 10 weeks and takes place between September and December.*
*Must be available to work at Muhlenberg Library (Manhattan) on Saturdays from 10:00am-2:00pm and 2:30pm-4:30pm*
