The New York Public Library (NYPL) seeks an Adult ESOL and Literacy instructor for the fall cycle, delivering free classes at Washington Heights Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with in-person and online options.
The teacher will follow a 10-week curriculum, support students from NRS levels 1–6, submit lesson plans, and participate in professional development aligned with NYPL priorities.
Adult English Language and Literacy (AELL) is the direct service provider of ESOL and adult literacy instruction for The New York Public Library (NYPL). Professional teachers facilitate free instruction to adult patrons in reading, writing, speaking and listening from a 0 to 8th grade level in both in-person and online classes. Instruction is offered in three, 10-week cycles and one, 4-week summer cycle.
