The New York Public Library (NYPL) seeks an Adult English Language and Literacy (AELL) ESOL instructor to provide free instruction to adult learners at or below 8th grade level, in-person and online.
This fall cycle lasts 10 weeks (Sept–Dec). The position requires Sundays at Bronx Library Center in the Bronx, with class times 12:30–2:30pm and 3:00–5:00pm, teaching ESOL, literacy, and digital literacy.
Adult English Language and Literacy (AELL) is the direct service provider of ESOL and adult literacy instruction for The New York Public Library (NYPL). Professional teachers facilitate free instruction to adult patrons in reading, writing, speaking and listening from a 0 to 8th grade level in both in-person and online classes. Instruction is offered in three, 10-week cycles and one, 4-week summer cycle. *Please note this position is for our fall cycle of classes which lasts 10 weeks and takes place between September and December.* Must be available to work at Bronx Library Center (Bronx) on Sundays from 12:30pm-2:30pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm
