Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Gaithersburg, MD to lead a dynamic team working on the FAA ERAM program, modernizing core air traffic control systems. The role involves managing the full software lifecycle, delivery of quality artifacts, and coordination with stakeholders across the NAS.

The ideal candidate will bring 9+ years in software leadership, strong communication, and experience with large-scale programs, including Java/C/C++.

Qualifications

• Leading a diverse software team and directing team activities.
• Experience on large-scale software development programs in leadership roles.
• Strong communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead full software development lifecycle activities for product areas, including design, coding, unit testing, and integration.
• Drive productivity improvements and adoption of AI in daily workflows.
• Track and report software status with detailed test reports and artifacts for stakeholders.
• Manage CAM responsibilities for applicable control accounts and assist with cost estimation and BOEs.
• Plan workload and manpower, including staffing and resource planning for current and future needs.
• Ensure delivery of quality work products (specifications, code, plans) aligned with program requirements.
• Lead planning meetings, reviews, and customer-facing sessions to align software objectives and schedules.
• Identify subcontractor needs for ERAM software where applicable.
• Conduct interim and performance reviews for department personnel.
