Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development, authoring, and lab validation of technical instructions for the FAA's ERAM system. The role demands hands-on systems administration, VMware virtualization, and enterprise networking expertise to translate complex changes into precise, repeatable procedures.

You will collaborate with FAA SLE Book Owners in lab environments, validate patches and configurations, and ensure documentation aligns with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline.
• 5 to 8+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Linux/Unix systems.
• Deep working knowledge of VM environments and virtualization technologies.
• Understanding of IP networking, routing, switch configurations, and topology diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, author, schedule, and maintain complex TI's for the ERAM environment.
• Lab validation with FAA SLE Book Owners to validate configuration steps and patches.
• Configure and troubleshoot RHEL/Unix and Cisco networking within VMware environments.
• Turn architecture designs and scripts into repeatable, error-free step-by-step instructions.
• Collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineers, and government stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure procedures are cataloged, version-controlled, and approved through SSDP pipelines.
