Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician for per diem shifts in Massachusetts. You will work on the front lines of emergency care, handling triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents during stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA accredited associate degree preferred.
• Must be a credentialed veterinary technician in the practice state.
• Minimum 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty background preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR/practice management software familiarity.
• Excellent communication under pressure; calm, supportive with clients and teammates.
• Physical ability to stand, lift up to 25 kg, and work in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and support pet parents through tests, treatments, and discharge.
• Deliver nursing care, monitoring, and emotional support in critical moments.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and monitoring equipment.
• Communicate with team to aid planning and maintain care flow.
• Perform CPR and participate in RECOVER trainings and protocols.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubing placement.
