Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will handle cases from triage to discharge, delivering gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care alongside doctors and the team.

You'll participate in treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, while remaining a calm, compassionate presence for pet parents in stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice required.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR software.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; team support.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and equipment; ability to lift up to 25 kg, support up to 40 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Administer medications, monitoring, and treatments, including IV fluids and CRIs.
• Assist with anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubes placement as needed.
• Support doctors and teammates and contribute to care flow.
• Demonstrate CPR and be ready to respond to emergencies.
