Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) invites highly motivated veterinarians to join its New ER Doctor (NERD) program in the United States. This six‑month, immersive training transforms practicing vets into confident VEG ER doctors within a modern, open‑concept hospital setting.

You’ll learn through hands‑on ER cases, guided mentorship, and weekly case reviews, with CE opportunities and strong emphasis on client‑focused care in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• A passion for helping people and their pets.
• A valid DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
• Be a practicing veterinarian for 1+ years.
• A desire to live and breathe emergency medicine.
• A valid license to practice veterinary medicine and a valid DEA registration by start date.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work side-by-side with experienced VEG doctors mentoring through real ER cases.
• Gain 3-4 hospital shifts per week plus weekly case discussions and hands-on training.
• Learn client-centered communication and the VEG Way.
• Attend CE experiences during the program, including ultrasound, exotics, endoscopy, and surgery.
