Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) invites veterinary clinicians to join the New ER Doctor (NERD) program, a six-month immersive training that transitions participants into full-time VEG ER doctors.

Participants work side-by-side with VEG doctors, gain hands-on ER experience with 3-4 hospital shifts weekly including nights, and receive mentorship, advanced procedures, and CE hours; all aspects of the program are funded by VEG.

Qualifications

• A valid DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
• Be a practicing veterinarian for 1+ years.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced open concept hospital.

Responsibilities

• Mentor through real ER cases with hands-on learning and feedback.
• Work 3–4 hospital shifts per week (days, swings, nights).
• Learn client-centered communication and the VEG Way.
