Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) invites veterinary graduates to join the New ER Doctor (NERD) program in a six-month immersive track. You’ll work alongside experienced VEG doctors on real emergency cases, receiving built-in mentorship and hands-on training in an open-concept hospital.

The program culminates in potential full-time ER doctor placement at VEG. You’ll gain exposure to endoscopy, exotics, and life-saving procedures while earning CE hours and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a DVM/VMD or equivalent degree.
• Active veterinary license to practice in the state by start date.
• Valid DEA registration by start date in the state of program.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Work side-by-side with VEG doctors on real ER cases with mentorship.
• Gain ER experience with 3–4 hospital shifts per week (days, swings, nights).
• Learn client-centered communication and the VEG Way.
