Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our frontline ER team in Cary, NC. You will perform triage, nursing care, anesthesia/monitoring, and diagnostics while supporting doctors and caring for pets and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree from AVMA-accredited program preferred
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of VEG location; VTS in ECC/IM/anesthesia is a plus
• 1+ years of veterinary technician experience; emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of practice management software and EMR systems
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance)
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis

Responsibilities

• Triage and support emergency care from admission to discharge
• Perform nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments
• Assist with anesthesia, monitoring, and diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and manage monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with doctors and team to maintain smooth patient flow
• Communicate clearly with team and pet parents as a trusted teammate
• Utilize advanced techniques and equipment when needed (IVs, CRIs, imaging)
• Remain adaptable in a fast-paced ER environment
