Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital seeks a Staff Nurse to care for patients boarding in the Emergency Department, transitioning them to inpatient beds with a focus on safety and quality care.

You will perform comprehensive nursing care, monitor patients, manage medications and infusions, and collaborate with inpatient teams to support discharge planning and continuity of care. Experience in Telemetry or Med Surg is preferred, and BSN is required.

Qualifications

• BSN is required; IL RN license active.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS/TNCC within 1 year where applicable.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• ADN degree acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years.
• Experience in Telemetry or Med Surg.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor boarding patients in the ED.
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care including medications and infusions.
• Collaborate with inpatient teams; support discharge planning.
