Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Transitional Care with evenings. You will care for patients boarding in the ER awaiting beds, delivering monitoring, assessments, medication and infusion management, and coordinating discharge planning.

Strong telemetry or Med Surg background preferred. Requires BSN, IL RN license, BLS; ACLS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC within one year; ADN with commitment to BSN also accepted.

Qualifications

• BSN required; IL RN license; BLS CNA/ACLS as applicable.
• ADN candidates must commit to BSN within three years of employment.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire for ER roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in the ER Transitional Care unit, with telemetry/Med Surg background.
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care: monitoring, assessments, medications, and infusions.
• Collaborate with inpatient teams and assist with discharge planning.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years

ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire
