Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support the ED by assisting with patient care under licensed staff supervision. You will help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked department while communicating effectively with the care team.

The role includes direct patient care tasks, patient transport, documentation in the EMR, adherence to infection control, and collaboration with ancillary services to ensure smooth operations and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Technical School completion of Nursing Assistant, EMT, Phlebotomy, or Medical Assistant courses required.
• Knowledge of infection prevention procedures and safety guidelines.
• HIPAA and EMTALA awareness and patient rights knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the emergency department under supervision of licensed staff.
• Assists with patient transport to/from units and discharge destinations.
• Maintains clean, organized environment and restocks supplies; ensures equipment is operational.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and care team; reports changes in status.
• Documents patient care activities in the EMR.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and assists with necessary tasks.
• Uses PPE and adheres to safety protocols.
• Performs clerical tasks to support unit operations.
• Collaborates with ancillary services to facilitate patient care.
