Job summary

MedStar Health in Washington, DC seeks an Emergency Department Nurse Assistant to assist the ED nursing staff with basic patient care and a variety of procedures under supervision. You will support daily activities, monitor vitals, help with ADLs, and help with wound care and CPR as needed.

The role requires EMT certification and CPR at healthcare provider level, plus a High School diploma or GED and 1–3 years hospital or EMS experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training.
• Successful completion of a department inservice training program within the first six weeks of employment required

Responsibilities

• Performs invasive/non-invasive procedures under supervision (IVs, catheters, NG tubes).
• Takes vital signs and provides basic nursing support (ADLs, specimen collection, I&O).
• Assists with CPR and basic wound care as directed.
• Monitors and stocks equipment and supplies in designated areas.
