Job summary

Altus Community Healthcare in Abilene, TX, seeks an Emergency Room Tech to support physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center. The role includes phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, and Point of Care testing, while assisting with patient care, transport, and routine lab tasks.

You will help manage supplies and keep patient areas clean and organized. The position requires 1–3 years of ER experience or EMT-P (or equivalent), high school diploma, and current EMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in an Emergency Room setting or EMT-P (or equivalent) required.
• Current EMT certification preferred (EMT-P) and BLS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs and physicians in providing technical patient care.
• Document vital signs and perform phlebotomy and IV starts.
• Perform EKGs, Point of Care Testing, and wound care.
• Transport patients and monitor with cardiac and vital sign monitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of patient care areas and equipment.
